Cornwall is a unitary authority and ceremonial county of England, within the United Kingdom. It is bordered to the north and west by the Celtic Sea to the south by the English Channel, and to the east by the county of Devon, over the River Tamar. Cornwall is the traditional homeland of the Cornish people, and it is recognized as one of the Celtic nations, retaining a distinct cultural identity that reflects its history.

Cornwall has a rich and vibrant folk music tradition which has survived into the present and is well known for its unusual folk survivals such as Mummers Plays, the Furry Dance in Helston, played by the famous Helston Town Band, and Obby Oss in Padstow. As in other former mining districts of Britain, male voice choirs and Brass Bands, e.g. Brass on the Grass concerts during the summer at Constantine, are still very popular in Cornwall. The city also has around 40 brass bands, including the six-time National Champions of Great Britain, Camborne Youth Band, and the bands of Lanner and St Dennis. Cornish players are regular participants in inter-Celtic festivals, and Cornwall itself has several lively inter-Celtic festivals such as Perranporth's Lowender Peran folk festival.

Cornwall is also the holiday destination for many British citizens each year. Cornwall provides a place for families to enjoy the many sights and summer activities of the city. During caravan holidays Cornwall, persons can enjoy the Minack Theatre on the cliff edge at Porthcurno, which won the Travel Mail award for the Best Day Out in the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2009. Children can enjoy recreation at the Crealy Great Adventure Park, Flambards, Treasure Park, or Dairyland Farm World

Holiday makers can also enjoy national landmarks such as Land's End. Those on the caravan campsite can also take in Cornwall's natural heritage in the form of its stunning coastline and countryside. Cornwall has some of the best gardens to visit anywhere on the British mainland due to Cornwall's mild climate.
