Initially one could communicate with others only through telephones, then, the invention of mobile phones eased many lives. Communication could happen only through hand written letters, calls and messages, but, the invention of computers transformed the entire forum of communication. One could easily perform many such activities, which they thought they could never. One could write what they wanted and store them in the computer. One could perform many other calculative tasks, paint, store various kinds of data in the Microsoft office installed in computers. Well, the initially developed computers were large in size and made a lot of noise while being processed. The end result produced by these large computers was not satisfactory. As the years passed by modifications on the size and the processing part were made.

Slowly, super computers were invented, which were much better than the computer systems that were initially designed. The functionality of these super computers was designed in a much better way, giving rise to the usability factor of this particular technological machine. Well, as the years passed by newer additions were made to the machine called computer, making it user friendly. Many opted for this particular machine and mainly bought assembled ones. The various tasks it could perform amazed the individuals, from older generation to newer generation. Every office and shop began to install computers instead of writing in register books and typing on the type-writers for entering data.

The transformation that took place in the world with regard to computers was worth a watch. Every month there were newer additions made to computers. Newer features were added making it more useful for the users. Learning computer became a subject in schools. Not too far, then a powerful force emerged when the demand for something more innovative did rise. Once considered a powerful and innovative invention was getting hidden beneath the popularity of the newer version of the computing machine i.e. desktops were going away from the enterprise world, getting replaced by laptops. Laptops made the lives of every soul easier than it was considered to be earlier due to the presence of computers. One could carry around the laptop and cherished this invention more than the desktop due to its portability factor.

While the IT revolution continued, the effects of some of the disruptions that arose in the computing world were worth examining, for which more and more professionals were hired in the software firms, which developed the employment factor largely. However, the aftershock of the attack on the World Trade Centre appeared in the form of the recession period, which vastly affected the IT industry. Deep recession forced computer manufacturers to take smaller margins and cut the average selling price of desktop and laptop systems, which created havoc in the market, along with sudden redundancy of employees, leaving many out of job for months.
